Repeat Prescriptions

If you are on long-standing or continuous medication and if the doctor has agreed, you may obtain repeat prescriptions. This decision, and the number of repeats, belongs solely to the doctor concerned and cannot be overruled by other staff. We require at least 48 hours notice for your prescriptions in writing. When you need a repeat prescription please use the tear-off slip on your previous script and either:

• Post the slip to the surgery indicating which items you require (please include a stamped self-addressed envelope if you want the script posted back to you).
• Put the slip into the Repeat Prescription box in reception at Millwood Surgery or hand in to the receptionist at Belton
• Fill in the online form

From time to time you will be asked to make an appointment to see the doctor for a review of your treatment and to enable any adjustment to be made if necessary

Prescriptions Charges and Exemptions

Extensive exemption and remission arrangements protect those likely to have difficulty in paying charges (NHS prescription and dental charges, optical and hospital travel costs).

The NHS prescription charge is a flat-rate amount which successive Governments have thought it reasonable to charge for those who can afford to pay for their medicines.  Prescription prepayment certificates (PPCs) offer real savings for people who need extensive medication.
